PROJECT OVERVIEW
The Lotus is a human scaled adaptive reuse of a typical building typology in the Garment District neighborhood: a warehouse. Converted to serve the local population of people experiencing homelessness, the facility offers thoughtful intake areas, counseling offices, semi-congregant sleep areas, healthcare and clinical service spaces, gender specific community lounges, administrative areas, outdoor patio with pet area, warming kitchen and dining space for meals, workshops and celebrations.
